At present I work as the development manager for a small software firm called Beam Technologies that specializes in developing software to help engineers design collaborative solutions for complex multi-faceted problem.
Before this I was a postdoctoral research assistant at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Ohio University.

I was born in Calcutta the capital city of West Bengal, in India. I did my undergraduate degree at the Presidency College, University of Calcutta, majoring in Physics.
In 1989 I started my graduate studies in the Princeton University Observatory at the Princeton University. After getting my Ph.D. in astrophysics there in 1993 I joined the Theoretical Physics department of Oxford University as a postdoctoral research assistant.
